Everyone has been all about supporting women’s wrongs lately, but I don’t think attempting to lie your way out of taking responsibility for a hit-and-run is what they had in mind.

In a video posted to TikTok earlier this month, a woman in a car can be seen arguing with the woman recording the video. The woman recording the video accuses the woman in the car of hitting her parked vehicle, saying, “I was inside the car and felt it move.” For extra proof, she edited in the dash-cam footage in which you can hear something hit her car.

Meanwhile, the other woman tries to gaslight her way out of exchanging insurance details by saying, “I’ll get your name. I’ll just talk to my husband. My husband’s a lawyer. If you want to lie, we can go down that road because I know the cars never touched.”

The woman taking the video again repeats that all she wants to do is exchange insurance information as is required by law. But the other woman becomes increasingly exasperated, finally exclaiming, “Just write down your shit and leave me the hell alone. I’m not in the mood. You’re lying, and you want to write down your stuff, that’s fine.”

She can then be seen making a call — to her lawyer husband, perhaps? — before yelling at the woman recording to go and get her own insurance information because she has other things to do.

Commenters pretty unanimously agreed that calling the police is the move here. That way, you have a police report to give your insurer, and there’s also a third party who can attempt to de-escalate the situation if needed (whether they’re actually good at de-escalation is another matter). Calling your lawyer husband while lying in the face of solid evidence, on the other hand, is not the best course of action, unless you want to go viral on the internet for being a Karen.
